Ever since I posted the Geico “Foghorn Leghorn” ad on my blog, my site stats have gone through the roof. I don’t know if it’s the general popularity of the commercial or the choice in tags I added but my site stats have literally tripled since I posted the ad last week! Talk about unintentional SEO marketing! ^_^

Geico does it again, I have yet to see a Geico commercial that I don’t love. So, in less than a week, I’m posting yet another Geico commercial that I’m absolutely loving. This time, our announcer asks us “Is the pen mightier than the sword?”. And then we’re treated to a scene of a masked ninja doing a few fancy sword moves, followed by a sensei (I’m assuming) signing for a package and then opening it to reveal a super amped up taser that he uses on the sword swinging ninja. LOVE IT!
A quick post before bed. I’ve seen this commercial a couple of times but always forget to post it. Geico continues their hilarious line of commercials where the announcer asks a rhetorical question followed by a scene that plays out to the exact question that he proposes. This time, he poses the question “do dogs chase cats” and instead of seeing a series of dogs chasing cats on foot, we’re treated to a hilarious 1970s themed car chase of dogs driving in a high speed pursuit after cats in cars as well.
Okay my start to the work week is now – it’s almost 1AM here in NYC and I’m hard at work connecting with international clients and partners. But I always have time for a funny commercial! ^_^ Up first – State Farm and their “Like A Good Neighbor” jingle based commercials. The latest edition shows trucker cap wearing dudes being attacked by buffalos randomly on the road. A quick rendition of the jingle brings the driver’s State Farm insurance rep – but into the car that’s currently being attacked. On the second try, the three terrified men are magically transported to the State Farm agent’s safe office – of course they’re still huddled together which is hilarious.
Why I like this: because again we have an insurance commercial that helps to make a usually not-so-fun-topic enjoyable. And enjoyable can make something more memorable and consumers more likely to use State Farm’s service.
Commercial #2 I’m loving: Stride gum’s new commercial for their flavor “Kinetic Mint”. I LOVE this commercial since we get to watch this (presumably) college student wrestling with a ram who’s trying to get her to spit out her gum and use a new stick. The general concept of the Stride commercials is that the flavor lasts so long that the company has to send people out to force Stride chewers to start chewing a new stick of gum.
The purpose: Now with their new “Spark” series of gum, not only will Stride gum’s flavor last so long that the inventors will beg you to try a new piece, but you’ll feel invincible! Now, whether you really will want to wrestle rams in real life is another story. But the commercial is awesome!
Okay…two posts about commercials in one day…but I just saw this and had to post it! I’m a fan of the Travelers insurance commercials…my fave being the one about the dog worrying about his bone. (Go youtube it if you’re not familiar!) But I just saw this new one from Travelers which makes insurance a more enjoyable topic! We’ve got a little girl playing with Duplo toy people and messing up their house. The premise: good home insurance can protect you from the craziness that can happen to your home (or more) – especially when partnering with a powerhouse like Travelers.
Love, love, LOVE this commercial! I had tons of Duplo toys…and although I’m not a fanatic about insurance, I definitely understand the importance of having good insurance for your home! I think this commercial has the perfect balance between something we love (our childhood) and a necessary evil (insurance). Hey, insurance agencies may not like to hear it, but people aren’t ♥’ing insurance…it’s just something that is a necessity – and we want our insurance companies to be as responsive, reasonable and helpful as possible without knocking us over the head with premiums!
