We took this straight from our client CuffLink® iPhone Wristband blog because we wanted to share the news:
This is a quick and easy post! This image was forwarded to us by a friend of ours who plays Words With Friends (and seriously, who doesn’t because that game is addictive and so much fun!!!). As we all know, in the free version of WWF, there are ads that play between each move made. And lo and behold, what should show up but an ad from Sky Mallfeaturing our CuffLink®! Check out the image below!

Coming right off of the heels of our news yesterday regarding fade’s month long featurette on Windows Media’s “Artist on the Rise” page, we have even more developments to share!
Last month Big Apple Style Marketing paired up with Promo Only – the largest retail entertainment content distribution and DJ record pool service in the US – to begin distributing select fade tracks for in-store distribution. So, as of mid-October, fans & general consumers across the US have been getting exposed to select music videos and audio tracks from “Kings of Dawn”, “Age of Innocence” and “To Find A Better Tomorrow” in top retail locations & vacation spots across the country such as Macy’s Department stores, Marriott & Hilton Hotels, and Princess & Disney Cruise Lines.
Yes…that’s a lot of visibility for a new to market (US Market!) band. But BASM wasn’t satisfied with just that. We’ve taken it a step further and over the past few weeks have been working closely with the team at Shazam – a mobile app focused music discovery service. As of this week, consumers first experiencing fade, can use the free mobile app to “discover” fade’s music on the go!
fade is now searchable through Shazam!
In case you’re not familiar with Shazam…the premise:
A consumer hears a song while out (in a club, restaurant, store, etc.) and doesn’t know the name of the track, the artist or the album. They activate the Shazam app and click “Tag”. As long as the consumer’s mobile speakers can “hear” a snippet of the song (usually takes no longer than 5 – 10 seconds for the Shazam app to “listen” to a song), it will then query the snippet against an existing (and rather large) catalog of songs. Seconds later, a screen appears with the name of the song and artist listed along with “buy now” buttons directing consumers to purchase the song either through iTunes or Amazon. To add to the wonder of this app, you can have Shazam “listen” to a song even without an Internet connection and then initiate the query once you return to a wifi or cellular service area (great for commuters who rely on subways to get around!).
The Shazam app is available on iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android, Windows Phone 7, Windows Mobile 6, Nokia, and Blackberry devices and the service can be accessed in 200 countries worldwide.

Big Apple Style Marketing (BASM) is a digital entertainment marketing agency that assists our clients with promoting, distributing and monetizing their original entertainment content. One of our favorite partners to work with is Windows Media – the online, mobile and stand alone Microsoft media player. Their online entertainment guide features a variety of content from independent as well as more well known production firms. This week, BASM has three clients with their content featured on the platform. Up first, a video remix DJ from Brooklyn, NY – Eric Voz. Eric Voz was featured on this blog earlier this year with a live set performance from his travels in Japan in November 2010 for Japan Music Week. This time, he shows us his remixing skills with a very uptempo video remake of the Adele chart topper, “Rolling in the Deep”:

Eric Voz’s “Adele: Rolling in the Deep” video house remix is featured on the US Home Page and on the Music Home Page - do make sure that you check it out! For more information, tracks, performance dates and details about Eric Voz, visit his official website at http://www.ericvoz.com.
Up next, we have our own DJ Eloy with their hot video mashup of Cee-Lo’s ever popular “Forget You” (yes the clean version) mixed with the classic favorite “Sugar Pie Honey Bunch” from The Four Tops! His mashup debuted on Windows Media last week on their Windows Media US Music Home Page. If you still haven’t seen this version yet, you can still catch it on Windows Media on their US Music Dance & Pop Page!

Big Apple Style Marketing (BASM) is a digital entertainment marketing agency that assists our clients with promoting, distributing and monetizing their original entertainment content. Earlier this year, BASM signed the docu-reality travel series The Peregrine Dame as a client to help promote and license the series. Now in its third season, The Peregrine Dame is a show that follows one woman, Rachel Parsons, as she travels completely solo with just her camera to document her experiences. Sometimes she visits well travelled locales like Spain or Sydney, and sometimes she finds herself in less well worn areas, like the African Bush country in South Africa! My hat goes off to Rachel because even though she makes it look so easy and simple, there’s no way I’d go traveling solo!
The Peregrine Dame "The Outback" clip on the Windows Media US Home Page
Anyway, this week I’m pleased to announce that The Peregrine Dame has debuted on Microsoft’s Windows Media Online Entertainment Guide, with her clip covering her experiences in the Outback. I highly recommend that you check it out! It’s not your typical travel series and has just the right amount of irreverent humor that is refreshing and keeps you hooked! “The Outback” clip from The Peregrine Dame is featured on the US home page as well as the US TV home page.

So, I just saw this commercial while getting my reality fix on Bravo. The concept, there’s a woman by the name of Veatrice who will be celebrating her 100th birthday shortly. Sprint invites us to call, email or text Veatrice to offer our well wishes on her landmark 100th birthday. The verdict…this is kind of creepy.
Although I think Sprint’s heart/marketing concept has good intentions, this commercial is (IMO) over the top and crosses the line. Veatrice’s number and email (although I’m sure they were specially created just for this ad) are going to be bombarded – and potentially with more than just well wishers. Even though this is a great “call to action” concept and I’m sure the response will prove successful, we all know that there are way too many nuts out there who are going to take this “call Veatrice” concept too far.
A quick post before bed…this is a commercial I’m really loving – one because it’s funny and two because it helps to rationalize for consumers why Verizon might be better than the competitors. Verizon Wireless has been doing hardcore promotions for their 4G “super fast” network. Well, rather than just telling people that they have a fast network, they decided to show them with a series of commercials (there’s another Verizon commercial comparing their 4G download speed to a rocket hitting a target very far away). This time, we’re treated to a “mock scene” of the roughly five minutes or so that you have between the time you get on the plane to when they close the doors and force you to turn off all electronic devices.
One, I love this commercial because it’s so true how trapped you feel when you’re on a long flight with nothing to do. I’ve resorted to buying the wifi option when the flight is over four hours! Two, regardless of whether or not you’re a Verizon customer (or interested in becoming one), this commercial helps to solidify the concept of speed when doing mobile downloads. The idea of being able to download a movie and a game on your laptop and/or mobile device via a wifi connection in roughly 5 minutes is pretty impressive!
