We’re very excited to announce that RIZE is featured in the June edition of Revista Bravisimo, a Spanish language monthly publication released in Venezuela that covers pop culture & music celebrities from Venezuela and worldwide.

RIZE has a three page article covering a brief bio of the group, a Q&A segment as well as coverage of their involvement at the East Meets West concert this past March in NYC. And, there’s even a two page pull out poster for fans! Although the article isn’t available in English or online, we have scans to share. Remember Bravisimo is in Spanish, so…find a friend to translate if you don’t speak Spanish! ^_^
This news article came out last week but is still relevant! On March 26th two reporters from The Ticker, the daily newspaper of Baruch College (an NYC college that is part of the CUNY system), attended our East Meets West event held at Webster Hall in NYC. Below is the screenshot to their review!

East Meets West was the first in what will be a series of charity benefit concerts that took place in NYC and brought together artists of various genres and fans from a multitude of backgrounds. The goal of the event was to raise awareness and financial aid for the continued Tohoku Rebuilding Effort. Tohoku was the region worst affected by the 3.11.11 Japan Earthquake & Tsunami disaster.
Baruch College is located in NYC and is part of the CUNY (City University of New York) system. For more information about Baruch College, visit www.baruch.cuny.edu/

Colectivo Bunka - Spanish Language Japanese Music Discovery Site Reviews RIZE
Yesterday, an article was posted on Colectivo Bunka that gave a brief bio about the trio as well as an eyewitness account of their amazing performance at our East Meets West charity benefit concert that took place at Webster Hall in NYC on Monday March 26th, 2012. The review is in English and Spanish (obviously the Spanish version is first!) and includes videos of live performances, official music videos and pictures of the band.
We’d like to give a massive ¡gracias! to Nao Takamui at the blog Rotting Strawberry for coming to our concert all the way from Venezuela and writing about her fan experience for Colectivo Bunka! If you’re looking for a Spanish language version of RIZE’s back story, we highly recommend checking out her blog entry entitled Conoce a RIZE! Listos para globalizarse!

Popular Bronx based video remixing DJ, DJ Eloy just released a promotional music video mashup pitting popular hip-hop icons Jay-Z & Kanye West against popular Japanese rock band, RIZE. Inspired by the influential nature of all the artists represented in the videos, DJ Eloy created a mashup that battled the respectively popular tracks “ZERO” (from RIZE, licensed by Coke Zero Asia) and “Ni**as in Paris” against each other to create “RIZE AGAINST THE THRONE”. The video just went viral today, posting on Youtube, Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter.
When asked why he chose to do the mashup with this particular lineup, DJ Eloy responded with the following:
“I was inspired to make the mix when I saw RIZE perform at Webster Hall last month. They asked me to be the DJ for their East Meets West concert. Before then I’d never seen them live. But their energy was so intense, it really motivated me. I got to talk to them and they were just cool dudes – good people. Of course, I’m a New York native, so I had to show love to Jay Z! Plus both of the songs just get in your head and stay there.”
This isn’t DJ Eloy’s first mashup that featured Jay Z. Two years ago he created a video edit for the popular underground audio mashup of Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.” versus Jay Z’s “On to the Next One”. That mashup ended up on Microsoft’s Windows Media Entertainment Guide website where it racked up nearly 70,000 views in a matter of days.
The video remixer and DJ is a trained turntablist who first got his start at the age of 14, DJing locally in the Bronx before he spread out to Manhattan. DJ Eloy learned from watching his father & other relatives DJ in the 80s at block party battles in his Bronx neighborhood where they routinely went head to head with the likes of Grand Master Flash. DJ Eloy is a well known remixer within the DJ community, having been featured multiple times in the industry magazine, DJ Times and speaking at multiple panels at the International DJ Expo held annually in Atlantic City, NJ. He formerly created video edits for Strictly Hits before striking out on his own and freelancing for industry heavies like Promo Only. Recently, he became co-host of an informative DJ industry show entitled Video Report that covers all topics relevant to the video DJ community. DJ Eloy holds residencies in NYC and also travels routinely across the country to perform as well.
This literally just came out “hot off the presses” so to speak!
So, last Monday was our “East Meets West” charity benefit concert where two our of our clients, RIZE & fade performed on stage along side two New York based acts, HipHopGamer & JR Junior, at The Studio in the iconic & historic Webster Hall here in NYC.
RIZE & fade event coverage from East Meets West on The Diva Review
The Diva Review is a pop culture review website that posts interviews, red carpet event coverage, music reviews and more. We’re so psyched by this article, especially since there are tons of great photos from the concert! ^_^
A short & sweet post tonight. We were doing a usual google search on our clients and came across a blog post recapping one of the evenings at March’s Canada Music Week.
RIZE performance review by T-Mak World Blog
T-Mak is a fan supported music, technology & everything in between blog that covers the previously mentioned and whatever else tickles the blog owner’s fancy. In March, T-Mak attended every day of performances at CMW and on the 23rd, RIZE’s last day in Toronto, they caught RIZE’s performance at the local venue, Tattoo Parlour. RIZE made a very favorable first time impression on the blog, being compared to a Japanese Metallica.
Today a new article was posted by the popular music discovery & lifestyle blog, PensEyeView. This week PensEyeView features their interview of Jesse McFaddin, the vocalist & founder of the popular Japanese rock band RIZE. The interview marks a first for PEV as Jesse’s interview is their first audio interview in the blog’s history.
Jesse McFaddin featured on PensEyeView!
In the interview, Jesse covers everything from how RIZE came to be, what influences the band’s sound, what encouraged Jesse to branch into other musical genres, his independent projects as a music producer & fashion designer and what the future holds for Jesse & RIZE.
PensEyeView is a music blog that focuses on giving a spotlight on new or up & coming artists or even artists and groups that may already be established but are creating new music or new personas. RIZERS can get an up close & personal look into Jesse’s laid back yet philosophical personality.
This interview comes on the heels of RIZE’s return to the North American concert through their performances at Canada Music Week in Toronto and Webster Hall in NYC.
After the mini North American tour that our clients RIZE & fade just finished in the past two weeks, we’re still sifting through all the media that’s been coming in over the past few days! Last week RIZE performed at two events in Canada and finished up with an intense & high energy performance at “The Studio” in the iconic Webster Hall – a staple of the NYC event scene since the 1800s.
We just stumbled across this blog interview for RIZE that took place last week while they were in Toronto for CMW (Canada Music Week). The blog is called Music Psychos and essentially covers the Toronto music scene whether that be local artists or visiting performers.
RIZE interviewed by Music Psychos blog
Last week they sat down with RIZE after their first performance at the local venue, Tranzac, to discuss the band’s goals, influences & more. For a full read of the interview, check it out at http://www.musicpsychos.com/2012/03/cmw-interview-rize.html.
Expect to see RIZE return to North America in the late Summer or Fall of 2012!
